These and many more questions can come to your mind. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Murdale Baptist Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home!" Here are a few answers to your questions about what you might expect on your first visit.

What should I expect when I arrive?
Murdale Baptist Church is a growing church that ministers to all ages from many different communities. The varied ministries of the church reflect the diverse population that we serve. There is a special spirit as we worship that is difficult to describe, but easy to experience. Our church is a unique balance of freedom of worship and fundamental Bible teaching. We have 2 Sunday morning worship services and a Sunday and Wednesday evening service. There is a blend of traditional to contemporary worship throughout these services.

What Denomination or Affiliations do we have?
Murdale Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church that is a member of Nine Mile Baptist Association. This Association is a part of the Illinois Baptist Association which consists of 40 churches in four counties of Southern Illinois: Jackson, Perry, Randolph, and Washington counties.

What should I wear?
There is no "dress code" at Murdale Baptist Church for members or guests. Our pastor and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, a specific attire is not required, and our members wear a variety of styles of clothing. We think it makes sense to wear nice, clean, modest clothing to church. As long as you do that you will not feel out of place.

We provide care for children(birth through 3 years of age) during regularly-scheduled church services, and as support for other ministries of the church.

When can I drop off my children?
We begin receiving children 15 minutes before each service and keep them until the close of the event. We respectfully request that parents honor our volunteers and pick up their children no later than 15 minutes after the event. On Sunday morning, we will keep children ages birth through 3 for both Sunday morning service to allow you to attend Life Group. Children age 4 and older will attend an age appropriate Life Group at the same time you do and attend worship with you.
